(MOBILE, Ala.) An all female jury is hearing the case against a man accused of deadly shooting outside Club Atlantis in downtown Mobile in 2011.
The jury was seated Monday and testimony began Tuesday.
Cedric Burroughs, 20, is accused of killing Daniel Casher. Police say the two got into a fight inside the club. That fight spilled into the street where Casher was fatally shot.
Casher's family was at jury selection as it began Monday.
"I feel pretty good," says Casher's mom Dianne. "I prayed and I gave it to the good Lord and I have faith in God, and I know that justice will be served for my son."
When Casher's family members spoke with us back in 2011, Dianne had a few ideas about what should be done. She suggested closing club Atlantis and starting a teen curfew in Mobile. In the year that followed, both of those wishes became a reality. Now, as the trial gets underway, says there's just one more thing she wants.
The jury could get the case Wednesday.
