(BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.) The three teens accused in the death of Summer Moody have filed for youthful offender status.

Scott Byrd, Dillon Tyree and Daniel Parnell are all charged with murder. Deputies say the teens, including Moody, were breaking into fish camps on Gravine Island last year. Campers on the island heard the commotion and say they fired a warning shot. A bullet hit Moody in the back of the head.

In November, a Grand Jury found enough evidence to charge all three teens with murder. Parnell has also asked to have his bond reduced.

A hearing on their request for youthful offender status has been set for February. Local 15 News will keep you posted.

They were old enough to know better. They were up to no good and knew the difference between right and wrong. Now they want to play naive, when their little 'games' of thievery turned deadly (it was only a matter of time after all the thefts they committed)....I don't think so!
