(Mobile, AL) June 29 - - The Mobile County School board will vote Monday on a proposal to allow resource officers and security guards to carry tasers.

Officers used to carry guns with them on campus, until a state law banned them from doing so in 2006.

School officials tell NBC 15 they feel tasers are necessary.

If passed, security guards could begin carrying tasers as early as August.
