PRICHARD, Ala. (WPMI) The decision over who will be in charge of Prichard City Water won't be made until at least the end of the week.

A judge was supposed to make a ruling as early as Tuesday.

He will decide if the Prichard board will remain "as is" or be dissolved, and if Mobile Area Water and Sewer System will take over.

Voters approved the takeover in November. Prichard said the move is unconstitutional.

Both have said they're willing to take the case all the way to the state Supreme Court.

Jerimiah, The problem is that cities like Chickasaw are stuck, UNWILLINGLY with the corrupt, mismanaged and ridiculously overpriced Prichard water board. The prichard water board only escapes investigation, prosecution, and incarceration, because they are part of Prichard. When the Prichard water Board is dissolved, the ENTIRE CITY falls with it! A lot of deserving criminals will go to jail as well after the required audit of the board. That is why the board is fighting so hard to save their "part time" positions!

I hope Prichard gets to keep it's water and sewer system. Mobile has enough problems without taking on the problems and issues of a failed municipality like Prichard.
