MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A state website set up with the intention of naming illegal immigrants who have had run-ins with law enforcement -- the so-called "scarlet letter list" -- has yet to include any names posted.

A spokesman for the Administrative Office of Courts says the court system had no cases to report for the last quarter. The office is tasked under state law with compiling the list.

Lawmakers approved the controversial list when they made changes to Alabama's immigration earlier this year.

The provision requires the court system to compile a quarterly list of cases, including names, in which an "unlawfully present alien was detained by law enforcement and appeared in court for any violation of state law."

It's certainly hard to take anyone seriously with the name "Savage" but I'll give it a shot, you lost any credibility and relevance when you typed the words "Jim Crow" into your comment. You apparently are locked in a 1950s time capsule and can't seem to bring yourself or your brain into the 21st century. Alabama like most states have poor people, with the majority of them living in rural counties like Marengo and Wilcox, however the cost of living in the southern states is a fraction of what it cost to live on the West Coast, Midwest, and Northeast. Alabama has slowly climbed up the ladder to economic success after 137 years of a Democratic controlled legislature that was voted out of office in 2010, and that was 137 years of regression and stymied growth. Now with a Republican Governor and State Legislature companies and corporations like Airbus, Honda, and Thyssen Krupp are making Alabama their home.

Of course it has yet to have any names included. It is just another scare tactic used by the Jim Crow crowd to stir up fear with no foundation. Exactly like the voter ID laws that supposedly combat voter fraud. The only problem is, the idea of voter fraud is all mythical, no basis in fact or reality, and that has been proven with finality. And the idea that all welfare recipients are on drugs, another baseless scare tactic disproven in Fl. when over 99% came back clean and cost the state millions of dollars to pay back everyone discriminated against for just being poor. But, hey, you want to continue to be the second poorest state in the country? Keep on voting for the same morons and you will get your wish.
