(MOBILE, Ala.) July 5 - A convicted rapist who is accused of committing capital murder is expected back in court Monday.

Spanley Harris is accused of murdering Karen Tillman Copeland last month in the Dees Community north of Grand Bay.

Mobile County sheriff's deputies say Harris was riding in a car with Tillman when he pulled out a gun and shot her. Deputies say Tillman named Harris as her killer before she died.

Harris is facing capital murder charges for the shooting.

In June, he was sentenced to three years in prison on a previous rape charge.
