OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - South Mississippi fire departments helped out after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 are helping out those slammed by Hurricane Sandy.

The Mississippi Press (http://bit.ly/Q6bAbj ) reports that a pumper truck donated to the Gulf Park Estates Volunteer Fire Department after Hurricane Katrina is on its way to the West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Department in New York,

The 1988 E-1 pumper is a model named the "Hurricane." The Dale City Fire Department in Virginia gave it to the coastal Mississippi department after Katrina.

The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/Uwhzrf ) reports that three Gulfport firefighters are traveling to Keyport, N.J., to help the fire department there with hurricane relief.
