Some Harrison County Utility Rates Could Rise

(GULFPORT, Miss.) July 3 - It might cost more for some residents of Harrison County to flush their toilets.

Gulfport city officials say they are considering increasing water and sewer rates by 15 percent to cover city debts, and officials say other cities and towns in Harrison County will probably have to do the sa,e.

The Harrison County Utilities Authority went into debt paying for damage done to the system by Hurricane Katrina.
