MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Police Chief Micheal T. Williams confirmed to Local 15 News reports that Sgt. Leland Terrell has been investigated by internal affairs on charges that he displayed his handgun at a local Waffle House.
Williams says grainy security camera video captured the incident.
The intent is in question, but one person present felt fearful enough to take issue with that move, and police were called. Now, those who were there that night will be called before the police trial board.
"They'll convene, determine whether there was justification or whether the officer acted properly or improperly and then will forward that information to me," Williams said.
The ultimate decision in Terrell’s future will be with the chief.
