(MOSS POINT, Miss.) June 25 - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says a sex offender failed to comply with Mississippi state registration requirements, and now, he is behind bars.
Deputies say George Kilgore was arrested Thursday for failure to comply with state statutes and register as a sex offender with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office or the Mississippi Sex Offender Registry.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigations Division says Kilgore has been living in the Moss Point community since 1998 without registering.
Kilgore was convicted of second-degree rape by a Mobile County court in August 1985.
