(Bay Minette, Ala.) A man called the "serial flasher" learned his fate Thursday from a Baldwin County Judge.

Dana Stegall, 49, was sentenced to three years in prison and five years probation on charges on indecent exposure.

Prosecutors said before this case, Stegall had more than 11 previous convictions for indecent exposure, but those were only misdemeanors.

Authorities say one night in Loxley changed all that. Stegall exposed himself to two women at a gas station.

One of them pressed charges and that led to what's known as "Dana's Law."

"The whole law changed because of the persistence of one victim who was tired of this being treated as a misdemeanor," says Assistant Baldwin County District Attorney Teresa Heinz.

Stegall's victim, who didn't want to be identified, showed up in court for Thursday's sentencing.

She called the three year jail sentence justice.

"I'm very proud of our state senators and our legislature for getting the law changed. I'm very proud of them," the victim said.

Stegall is also expected to undergo mental health treatment while in prison.
