(GULFPORT, Miss.) An executive search firm will help the Port of Gulfport find a new director.
The Sun Herald reports that seven firms responded to the port's request for proposals to conduct the search.
Port spokesman Denton Gibbes says two port commissioners will interview the top candidates and recommend a firm for the five-member commission to hire.
Don Allee, the port's previous executive director, resigned in October after 11 years in the position.
The director oversees 28 staff members and manages a budget that included $92 million in total projected expenses for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
