(MOBILE, Ala.) - The Salvation Army on Wednesday handed out thousands of gifts to some less fortunate kids. It was part of the Angel Tree Program.
Wednesday was the last day for the toy distribution. Organizers say it's not just about the toys, they said it's more about getting into the holiday spirit and giving back.
"We've had people coming in today since 8:30 this morning, and leaving with baskets full of toys for their children for Christmas. I think it's been very successful," said Maj. Susan Brown with the Salvation Army.
About 2,000 kids received gifts through the Angel Tree Program this holiday season.
