Roy Moore Launches Web Campaign for Governor
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has launched a Web site saying he's running for governor.
The Web site -
http://www.moore2010.com - went up Monday morning. The Web site invites supporters to sign a pledge to help elect Moore as "the next governor of Alabama."
Moore has an official announcement planned at noon Monday in Montgomery.
The announcement coincides with the date that candidates can begin raising money for next year's elections in Alabama.
Greenville businessman Tim James, state Rep. Robert Bentley of Tuscaloosa, and former two-year college Chancellor Bradley Byrne have already announced their campaigns for the GOP nomination.
State Treasurer Kay Ivey expects to kick off her campaign in a few weeks.
