Primary Tuesday for Dist. 35 State Senate Seat in Mobile Co.

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) The vacant District 35 State Senate seat in Mobile County is about to be filled.

Three Republicans are running: State Representative Jim Barton, business consultant Bill Hightower and retired Marine Col. Nick Matranga.

All three will run in Tuesday's primary.

The Democratic party does not have a candidate.

A runoff will be held March 12, if needed.

The District 35 seat became open when Republican Ben Brooks resigned to become a circuit judge.
