(MOBILE, Ala.) - A scare on campus at the University of Mobile ended up being a false alarm.

Late Tuesday night, a female student said a suspicious man approached her while she was getting into her car, but walked away into the woods when a second student pulled up on his bike.

An alert went out to students Wednesday.

Now, it turns out the man, was actually a faculty member.

He came forward after seeing the alert.

School officials say it was all a big misunderstanding.

They say the faculty member wasn't fleeing into the woods, but was actually walking back to his home on campus.
