(MOBILE, Ala.) - Two stabbings on New Year's Day happened just hours apart.
The first stabbing happened off of M.L.K. Avenue and Kennedy Street.
The person with the knife took off on foot and police canvassed the neighborhood.
Neighbors tell Local 15 the victim was stabbed in the chest, but is expected to survive.
The second stabbing happened just after 5 p.m. at Elmira and Rapier Streets.
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Witnesses say the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
Police are investigating what led to the stabbing.
A window of the suspect's car was busted out.
