Pensacola Beach Dog Parks Open Friday

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WPMI) Starting Friday, dogs will be welcome on two small parts of Pensacola Beach.

The hours are 6 a.m. To 10 a.m. Those hours shift May 1, to 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The six month trial ends mid-September and city officials will then reevaluate it.

The parks for dogs are at parking lot B on Fort Pickens Road and parking lot E on Via De Luna.

It's great they are on the right path, now just remove the leash requirement on that area of the beach, and expand the hours so more people can use the area. Dogs cannot socialize very well on-leash.
