MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) Parents of students at Pearl Haskew Elementary School are being asked to attend a meeting Tuesday night to talk about the recent tuberculosis case.
Last week, a female teacher tested positive for the illness. Even though that teacher was not showing symptoms, health officials want to find out how many students may have been exposed.
More than a hundred third graders will have to undergo mandatory testing for TB. Administrators sent a letter home with parents. With that letter was also a permission slip to allow the student to be tested at the school this week.
The parent meeting will be Tuesday at 6 p.m., in the auditorium at the school.
Local 15 News will be there. We'll let you know what happens.
