BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) One person was killed in a crash in Baldwin County early Thursday morning.

It happened around 4 a.m., on Alabama Highway 59 about eight miles north of Stockton (at mile marker 64.5).

State Troopers say 27-year-old Johnathan Maurice Benjamin was driving north when his 2005 Crown Victoria swerved off the road and hit a tree.

Benjamin died at the scene. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt. They say speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.

No one else was in the car.
