(SEMMES, Ala.) January 7 - If you want to do a little light reading, you now have a new place to do it. The Semmes branch of the Mobile Public Library celebrated its grand opening Wednesday. The one-million dollar library has been in the works for years, but is now a reality. It is at the intersection of Moffett and McCrary Roads in Semmes, in a renovated building that will house about 25-thousand items. The library will also feature 21 internet accessible computers, a quiet study room, and two meeting rooms.
