Why is it illegal to buy the old incandescent bulbs? They have been around for 100 years and do the job. I don't consider the newer EXPENSIVE bulbs to be energy efficient when they cost so much compared to incandescent. Hey it takes time and energy to earn the money needed to buy these expensive bulbs. Apparently that doesn't matter to the government either since the money doesn't come out of their pocket. By the time an energy bulb burns out and with the price you pay for them, you could have bought probably 8 to 10 regular bulbs in the energy efficient bulbs lifetime. I'm about willing to bet all those cheap bulbs purchased for the same amount of money paid for just one energy effecient, will even last longer. Then you have the warnings and disposal problems with the new type bulbs. Have you ever read on the package the instructions for handling a broken energy efficient bulb? They have got to be poisonous if not deadly to humans and I'm sure they aren't good for the atmosphere either. Why is the government raming this down our throats too? I feel sure that there's a few government officials lining their pockets and looking out for big business as usual every time you purchase these bulbs. This looks like another greedy attempt for your money over unknown health problems caused by these bulbs. Also, if LED lights are so good and last so long, why do you see so many burned out on the hanging red lights at intersections and on tail lights on automobiles? Looks like the biggest consumer of wasted electricity (US government) is going to force the rest of us to buy these expensive bulbs.
