(BAY MINETTE, Ala.) -  Baldwin County's new District Attorney could announce tomorrow if former Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine will stand trial again for murder.

Nodine is charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Angel Downs.

A mistrial was declared in December when a jury could not agree on a verdict...
that case was tried by former District Attorney Judy Newcomb.

Baldwin County's new District Attorney, Hallie Dixon, plans a news conference tomorrow afternoon to map out her strategy in the case.

Dixon met late last week with Downs' family to talk about the case, which is on the trial docket for February.

The smart thing to do would be to seek a Change of Venue.... Let a Prosecutor from outside the area look at all the evidence, and if it is sufficient, bring it before a new jury in some other jurisdiction, with an impartial judge If they convict, FINE... If they don't think you proved your case, also fine by me.. Trying him anywhere close to Mobile would be a conflict of interest, as he's so well known in the area, and has received bribes and special favors from most local officials. If he were aquitted, people would claim he rigged it, and if he were convictedm, others would claim it was "payback" for varioyus political slights... In order to at least give the illusion of fairness in the judicial system. try him elsewhere...
