(GULFPORT, Miss.)(AP) - Capt. Rick Burgess will take command of the Naval Construction Battalion Center, 20th Seabee Readiness Group during a ceremony Friday in Gulfport.
Burgress will replace Capt. Lou Cariello, who has commanded the Seabees since Sept. 10, 2010.
Speakers for the change of command are Rear Adm. Mark A. Handley, Commander, First Naval Construction Division and Rear Adm. Townsend G. "Tim" Alexander, Commander, Navy Region Southeast.
Cariello will move to Naval Support Activity, Naples, Italy where he will be commanding officer for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Europe Africa Southwest Asia.
Burgess' most recent position was as the Operations Officer Naval Facilities Command Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Va.
