(PRICHARD, Ala.) July 5 - His name is William Darnell Kidd. His nickname is "Red," but police are calling him something different: a suspect.
Prichard police say Kidd, 24, is responsible for the fatal shooting of William Hampton, 20, last week on North Joseph Avenue, and Hampton was shot on July 2. Police say Hampton was taken to the hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
Police say they have also identified Kidd as one of three suspects involved in a drive-by shooting on North Joseph Avenue early Sunday morning. Officials say the victim was shot in the upper torso. He is listed in critical condition.
Authorities say Kidd should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Kidd or his whereabouts is urged to contact the Prichard Police Department at (251) 452-2211.
