Make no mistake, police are not allowed to use deadly force unless there is no alternative, and in this case I can think of a thousand alternatives. Gil posed absolutely no imminent threat to the officer, who could have used mace, a stun gun, a baton, or pure physical power to subdue the naked, 5'7 135lb 18 year old. The officer is being externally investigated by the DA's office, which means criminal charges are likely imminent and the man will never wear a badge again for the rest of his life and likely serve some, but not nearly enough, time in jail for what is essentially 2nd degree homicide.
