(SILVERHILL, Ala.) - Authorities Donna Henderson, 52, and her 18-year-old daughter, Samantha Combs, were found dead in their Silverhill home just before midnight Monday night.

Silverhill Police Chief Kim Wasdin says the women appeared to have been dead for a few days before they were found.

"We initially thought they died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but now we are investigating it as a homicide," Wasdin said.

Wasdin says the mother and daughter were last seen alive by neighbors Friday night. Two cats were also found dead inside their home. Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry.

Autopsies are being conducted to provide further explanation of how the women died.

I am so eager to see how they were killed if it was murder. If they originally thought it was carbon monoxide, there apparently are no visible wounds or marks. May God bless the family.

I hope that they catch the monster that did this! makes me think since somebody killed 2 people and 2 cats that somebody was very angry with them to go to that extent!!!sad sad sad!cant trust nobody.....cause they said there wasnt a forced entry!

Thanks Yellowhammer. I didn't know that. My own dog can't seem to make it half a day. Of course, some say he's spoiled.

Cats and dogs can live weeks without food and water. Of course no one should allow that to happen.

It has occurred to me since my last post that, since the article states that the women appeared to have been dead for a few days, that the cats may have starved after the women were killed.

Strange that the cats would be dead, too, if it's a homicide. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the autopsy. Wonder if an autopsy will be performed on the animals too.
