(MOSS POINT, Miss.) The Moss Point Board of Aldermen has awarded a contract to Dan Hensarling Inc. of Gulfport to build the new police station and construction could begin within the next two months.

The Mississippi Press reports the board of aldermen voted unanimously to award the contract to Hensarling as lowest and best of four bidders after considering that all the bids again came in over the architect's estimated cost of $3,200,000 for the new law enforcement building. Hensarling's bid was $4,200,00 million.

Preliminary design that city officials approved in June shows a 14,634 square foot facility that includes a ground-floor jail to hold seven females and 17 males, plus others in a holding cell.
