(BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala.) - More indictments have been handed up on the case against Bayou la Batre Mayor Stan Wright. The indictment also lists city official Janey Galbraith.
After reviewing new evidence, a Grand Jury handed up a new indictment on retaliation charges. Galbraith has also been indicted on wire fraud charges.
The mayor and his daughter are already accused of fraud and embezzling FEMA funds after Hurricane Katrina. The new indictments also stem from FEMA funds, and accusations of favoritism when doling out those funds to family and friends following Katrina.
Wright is also charged with harassing a witness, for allegedly demoting a police captain who cooperated with federal investigators.
