(MOBILE, Ala.) The Port City is prepped and ready to drop it's giant MoonPie to ring in 2013.

Christmas Day tornados have not put a damper on this year's celebration, even as folks across the city continue recovering from the storms.

"The MoonPie drop has come a long way," Mayor Sam Jones said. "We are in our third year, really our fifth year, and the MoonPie drop has become really popular. There are a lot of activities for everyone in the family. It's more important this time, because we want to help the tornado victims."

To donate to the American Red Cross and give $10, simply text "Red Cross" to 90999.

"While we were fortunate not to have a loss of life, we do have a lot of family's that were displaced, we have a lot of businesses, churches, as well as, schools that have really been damaged," Jones said. "We want to help them."
