MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mobile is on tap to be part of a huge torch celebration later this year.
Alumni members of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority were at Bishop State Community College Thursday morning.
The annual Centennial Torch Celebration Tour City was announced and Mobile was named as one of the stops.
The reason is because of the late Dr. Yvonne Kennedy.
"Our city, being Mobile, is where, this is the home of Dr. Yvonne Kennedy, and this is why it was selected," said Mobile Alumnae Chapter President Hannah Hart.
The event will be April 19 - 21. There will be a special tribute to Dr. Kennedy, who died last month.
