(MOBILE, Ala.) With more than a weeks worth of parades and balls to go, Saturday was the biggest day for Mardi Gras in Mobile so far.
Five parades rolled through Downtown Mobile under clear skies. Mobile Police said a crowd of about 33,120 packed the sidewalks for the Mobile Mystics and Mystic Revelers Saturday afternoon.
The Maids of Mirth, Order of Butterfly Maidens and Krewe of Marry Mates parades rolled back-to-back Saturday night. No crowd statistics were made a available.
