(MOBILE, Ala.) Mobile Community Action says phones are already ringing off the hook from people needing heating assistance for the winter.
MCA uses federal funding to help people pay their heating bills. Starting Wednesday, January 2nd, the non-profit will begin accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program or LIHEAP.
Certain people have priority when it comes to assistance. People with small children, first-time applicants, senior citizens, and people with life-threatening illnesses have priority.
