ARNOLD, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri man is facing murder charges in Alabama for allegedly killing an elderly man inside the victim's home.

Missouri authorities said Wednesday that 37-year-old Scott Jones of Arnold, Mo., has been extradited to Mobile County and is jailed on $100,000 cash-only bond. He is charged with murder and attempted murder.

Jefferson County, Mo., Sheriff Glenn Boyer says his office was contacted by the Mobile County Sheriff's Department Monday concerning a homicide that occurred in February 2010. In that crime, a suspected entered the home of an elderly couple during the night and assaulted them with a blunt object. The man died and the woman was badly injured.

Boyer says Jones lived in Mobile County at the time of the crime and later moved to Arnold.
