MOBILE, Ala (WPMI) A Fairhope woman who vanished Saturday has been found alive and is recovering at Thomas Hospital.
Fairhope Police confirmed 49-year-old Paige Roe was found Sunday night, but would not say how she was found and her condition.
Searchers told Local 15 Roe left a note for her family between 3:15 and 5:00 Saturday afternoon, saying she was going out for a walk. Roe would often take a walk to the park a block away from her house. When she didn't return that night, friends and family mounted a search effort through the night but came up empty-handed.
Search teams with scent tracking dogs were called in Sunday, but found few clues. Searchers told Local 15 a tracking dog picked up Roe's scent and followed it from her house to the intersection by the park. That's where it abruptly ended. Searchers were looking into the possibility Roe had entered a vehicle, either voluntarily or by force.
Roe's family told Local 15 they wanted to thank everyone for their help, but did not disclose any details about how Roe was found.
