(PENSACOLA, Fla.) - Health officials have confirmed the first case of fungal meningitis in Pensacola.
The case is centered around Pain Consultants of West Florida. The 47-year-old man said he received treatment at the clinic and was infected by one of the contaminated lots.
Federal investigators have linked the outbreak to steroid shots for back pain.
The outbreak covers 13 states. No cases have been reported in Alabama.
