(ROGERSVILLE, Ala.) Lauderdale County authorities say a cancer patient is accused of shooting a man who pulled out his feeding tube during a fight.

Sheriff officials tell the TimesDaily that 61 year old Jerry Fuqua of Rogersville is accused of shooting 46 year old Jerry Carter Gray after the dispute.

The two men got into a fight on Tuesday. The tube that's used to feed Fuqua came out and had to be reinserted at Huntsville Hospital.

A sheriff's investigator says Fuqua went to find Gray the next morning and shot him in the arm. The slug broke the man's arm.

Officials say Fuqua is charged with assault in the shooting, and Gray could be charged for the earlier fight.

Police say Fuqua surrendered to authorities.
