(MOBILE, Ala.) – Mobile Police have charged 40-year-old James Langham with robbery third degree and theft of property first degree.

Police say on New Year's Eve he robbed the Chevron station on Cottage Hill Road.

They say he sprayed the clerk in the face with pepper spray, climbed over the counter and grabbed money from the register before taking off.

Police say Thursday night he also approached a female victim in the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie on Highway 90.

Police say he took her purse and ran to a hotel.

Langley was arrested Friday without incident.

So........if it weren't for pepper spray and purses this poor guy would not be a criminal? If we could just ban those two items we could have prevented at least 2 crimes....lets think this over folks.
