PENSACOLA, Fla. (WPMI) A Pensacola man is facing multiple charges after officials say he shot his girlfriend in the face during an argument.
It happened Thursday morning around 2:30 a.m. at Blount Street and Watson Drive.
Police say the 23-year-old victim was driving a car with 21-year-old Henry Blackmon, when the two got into an argument. They say Blackmon shot the woman in the face then pushed her out of the car and took off. The victim was able to use her cell phone and call for help.
While police were responding, they noticed Blackmon driving the getaway car on Cervantes. Officers collided with Blackmon to get him to stop. No one was injured.
Blackmon is charged with attempted murder, assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, vehicle theft, fleeing/eluding police, and driving with a suspended license.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Her name has not been released because this is a domestic violence related incident.
