(MOBILE, Ala.) The Mobile County Sheriffs Office made surveillance video of Gil Collar's last moments available to the media Thursday.

The video is a little less than two and a half minutes long. It starts out with Collar beating on the window at the police station. In the video, it looks like he was trying to break the glass, making seven large blows to the glass. Then he walked out of frame.

You then see Officer Trevis Austin come out of the door with his gun drawn. Collar then comes back into frame and begins approaching the officer. You see the officer back up for about 25 or 30 paces. Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran says Officer Austin is yelling commands at Collar to back up and get down.

Then in the video you see what looks like Collar getting into a wrestling stance, but gets back up and moves very quickly toward the officer.

Eventually, Officer Austin shoots Collar in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Collar then gets up and charges Officer Austin again. He collapses and tries to get up two more times before finally collapsing for good.

What a travesty of justice and rational thought to see the high Sheriff of Mobile County exercising "a police officer is always right" attitude ... Is this the way you would have wanted this situation handled if YOUR son was the victim, Sam? ... Isn't it just possible that a more rational policeman would have resorted to using deadly force as a LAST (not first) resort? ... I mean, they do still teach "to protect and to serve" in the law enforcement academies don't they? ... Put a few bundles of those 20s aside, Sam, you're going to need them come re-election time.
