MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) The Mobile County Sheriff's Office said they have arrested two women and charged them after police say they kidnapped two children.
Officials say the children were kidnapped from Kristina's Kastle on Nortons Lane and then taken to Gautier, Mississippi. While there, officials say the children were forced to shoplift from retailers.
Deputies say the they pulled the women, Erica Rudolph and Kristina Price, over for speeding on Interstate 10. They say the 3 and 4-year-olds who were kidnapped were not related to the two women, and that they were taken without permission from their parents.
A Local 15 News crew knocked on the door of the house where officials say the daycare operates out of. No one answered. About 20 minutes later, Kristina Price's mother came out, saying this is the biggest lie ever told. Price's mom said her daughter is innocent, and that the other suspect did all of the stealing.
Price's mom wouldn't answer any questions about the daycre. But a friend told Local 15 News that Kristina is more of a babysitter, rather than a daycare operator.
Rudolph and Price are charged with kidnapping and receiving stolen property.
