MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Revelers are facing a soggy end to Carnival season and frankly, they don't seem to care.
"Mother nature still wants us to have a good time so we're going to get right on out here and make it happen," said reveler Amy Thompson.
King Felix III and the Floral parade rolled for a smaller than usual crowd Monday afternoon, but fewer people didn't mean a shortage of fun.
"Moon pies come in a wrapper for a reason. They're still good even if they're wet on the outside. It's all good!" said Amy Thompson.
And where there's a parade, there are vendors looking to turn a profit. This is Frank Parson's 10th year making the trip to Mobile from Columbia, South Carolina.
Thankfully, despite the rain, he says folks are still buying.
"Except for the wind, everything is okay," he said.
Business owners seem to be getting along just fine, too. Inside Veets Bar and Grill, it was a packed house.
"It brings everybody in because if it's beautiful everybody's got their ice chest, tailgating, not spending as much in the businesses. But when it's cold or bad weather they tend to come in and spend money in the local businesses which is great for us," said manager Gina Jo Brevito.
