(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) The 74 year old served two terms as state treasurer, one as Alabama's first female lieutenant governor and one as Public Service Commission president before losing her re-election bid Tuesday.
She says she's not distressed because she's been working since she was 19 and is now ready for retirement.
Baxley has already put her Montgomery home on the market and is preparing to move to Birmingham. She says the focus of her life now will be a grandchild and a great-grandchild due in the new year.
