(MOBILE COUNTY, Ala.) Sept. 15 - A family is hoping you can help find the person who hit and killed their daughter. The accident happened around 8:30 Sunday night, off Lott Road in Semmes.
As police worked the scene of a hit and run accident late Sunday night in Semmes, Saeid Malahnejad woke to the sound of police knocking at his door. "They said, 'Your daughter is in critical condition'. I drove as fast as I could, I made it to Mobile and they were right, my daughter was in very critical condition. Shortly after that, we lost her." His only child, 27 year old Nazanene died around 4 Monday morning. Police say someone driving a dark colored vehicle, possibly a van, ran her over on Lott Road and then kept going. "She just wanted to take a walk. The person, the coward person who hit her, did not have the courtesy to stop and help my child."
"They couldn't identify her by the picture and I knew it didn't look like her, but I knew it was her." Rose Pugh says her grand-daughter was very giving, always helping others. She never stopped smiling. "Always laughing. Just a happy girl." It's how waitresses at I-Hop described their co-worker. "She was there for you if you needed her, absolutely. She was very loved, and a very kind-hearted person, she will be very missed."
