(GULF SHORES, Ala.) Several Alabama leaders were in Gulf Shores Thursday, talking about the RESTORE Act and a possible settlement between the federal government and BP over the oil spill.

Congressman Jo Bonner, Sen. Jeff Sessions and Attorney General Luther Strange are all concerned the rumors they are hearing out of Washington could be true.

There are reports that the Justice Department and BP have reached a settlement over the oil spill. Alabama leaders fear that settlement could divert money away from the Gulf Coast and into federal bank accounts.

"The Attorney General of the United States came to this community last year and recommitted on the behalf of the President, who came here the year before during the oil spill. Came to Gulf Shores, came to Orange Beach, came to the Gulf Coast communities that were impacted and promised on behalf of the government of the United States that the people of the Gulf Coast will be made whole. That was his promise," Rep. Jo Bonner, R-Mobile, said.
