ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WPMI) Homicide investigators in Escambia County, Florida, are looking for relatives of a man shot to death by deputies in a standoff.

Deputies responded to a burglary call January 27, at a self-storage business in the area of Mobile Highway and Dominiguez Street.

Officials say 49-year-old Paul Gordon Thayer was armed with a gun when deputies arrived. Thayer was shot and killed after deputies say he pointed the gun at officers on the scene.

The two officers involved are on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.

Officials believe Thayer may have a child living in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
