McCOMB, Miss. (AP) - A man serving seven years for burglary, identity theft and credit card fraud in Jones County has escaped from the Pike County Community Work Center in McComb.
Mississippi Department of Corrections spokeswoman Tara Booth says authorities are investigating how 22-year-old Richard Glen Maples escaped about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
He's described as 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, with green eyes, brown hair, and tattoos including a footprint on his back, the initials "RG" with flames on his left arm, and a clown and five-pointed star on one hand.
He was last seen wearing the inmate uniform: green-and-white striped pants and a white shirt with "MDOC Convict" on the back.
Booth says anyone who has seen or has information about Maples should contact local law enforcement or the corrections department at 662.745.6611.
