(MOBILE, Ala.) The Internal Revenue Service and United Way are looking for volunteers to help others by preparing income tax returns for free.

"Volunteers are certified to prepare simple tax returns for people whose incomes are $50,000 or less," said Dan Boone, IRS spokesman said in a release. "People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to volunteer."

You can go online to get your volunteer certification or classroom training may also be available. Once certified, volunteers spend as little as three to four hours a week volunteering between February and April.

To learn more contact the United Way by dialing 211 or send an email to wi.spec.bhampartners@irs.gov

Last year, nearly 99,000 Americans volunteered to provide free tax services through IRS tax help programs.
