(MOBILE, Ala.) - In an effort to keep looters at bay, Mobile police officers are out in force in tornado-stricken areas.

So far, there haven’t been any major reports of looting, and police want to keep it that way.

“To beef up the numbers of officers in those precincts, to give them some relief, they've taken officers from other areas of the city and reallocated those resources out there to help those officers secure those areas with both security and traffic enforcement,” says Police Captain Clay Godwin.

Residents, businesses and even a church off of Dauphin Street have hired private security guards to keep a watchful eye.
