(BAY MINETTE, Ala.) - A student from Baldwin County High School was arrested Monday after other students reported he had a gun on a school bus.
Terry Wilhite, Director of Communications for Baldwin County Schools, tells LOCAL 15 News the student was showing off the gun to middle schoolers, who reported it to school officials. He says they reported it to police, who then arrested the student. "Student safety is our top priority and it takes the entire community working together to keep our campuses and buses safe and as it was in this case, it takes students stepping forward doing the right thing to inform adults; they’re our best eyes and ears," Wilhite said.
The school system says student did not make any threats to the other students. He will be suspended and will face an expulsion hearing.
